A new podcast from Bosch Rexroth offers advice on how basic lean principles can be used to help achieve sustainable manufacturing goals.
The podcast features lean expert Jamie Flinchbaugh, founder of the Lean Learning Center and author of the book The Hitchhiker's Guide to Lean. In a Q&A format, Flinchbaugh discusses the links between sustainability and lean manufacturing, and how lean processes, lean transformation and lean techniques, such as design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA), can make crucial contributions to sustainability goals.
Flinchbaugh also discusses how improving processes to reduce or eliminate waste often leads to greater efficiency, explaining how lean and green principles often go hand-in-hand.
"Lean and Sustainability" is episode number ten in Rexroth’s lean manufacturing podcast series, available for listening or free download from the company’s website at www.boschrexroth-us.com/leanpodcast.
